The Malta Chess Federation (‘MCF’) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy explains when, how, and why we collect personal data about people.
The Malta Chess Federation is a sports association whose physical premises are at The Chess Club, St Ignatius Complex, Tal-Ħandaq, l/o Qormi, Malta.
The only information we obtain about our members is provided by them directly. We do not collect personal data simply as a result of a person visiting our website.

We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.
Certain personal information provided is collated and stored to meet the mandatory requirements under the Laws of Malta including those of the Sports Act, the Regulations on the Register of Beneficial Owners of Foundations and of Associations under the Civil Code of the Laws of Malta, the Voluntary Organistions Act, the Public Health Act Chapter, and related Legal Notices and other subsidiary legislation. Consequently, such personal information may be provided to SportsMalta, the Malta Business Registry, the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations, and the Superintendence of Public Health within the Ministry for Health, as required by law.
Certain personal information is submitted to organisations to which the MCF is affiliated with for the maintenance of player databases, rating systems, registration to events, and historical records.
Unless required by law, we do not share personal data with other third parties.
Members can ask for a copy of the data we hold about them. If a member provides information about another person, it is their responsibility to ensure that the other person has given their explicit consent to the processing of their personal data.
Should you have any unresolved complaints about the way we process your personal data, you have the right to make a formal complaint to the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC).
