TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
The Malta Chess Federation (MCF) has as its primary objective the development of chess as a sport and as an educational tool in the Maltese Islands. It is the sole organ recognised by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and SportMalta to
develop the sport nationally as well as organise National Championships for all categories of competition. All services by the MCF are provided on an honorary basis.
The MCF welcomes any club, organisation or individual who works professionally and ethically towards the positive development of chess in Malta. Unfortunately, recent developments have revealed that an organisation is labelling
itself as Malta Chess. The MCF categorically states that this commercial organisation has no relationship whatsoever, and is not affiliated in any way, with the MCF.
Moreover, the MCF has been informed by schools and other entities that they are being contacted by an entity referring to itself as “Malta Chess” in order to affiliate with them and organise events under their umbrella. This message is being sent for the sole purpose of informing you that this entity is not registered nor affiliated with the MCF.
Should anybody have any questions or concerns regarding representations made to them, they may contact the Malta Chess Federation at info@chessmalta.com
