Jake Darmanin won the 7th Harry Camillieri Memorial with an impressive 6.5pts out of 7 games. Darmanin won 6 games and drew against Patrick Zerafa to win one point ahead of second place.
Last year’s winner, Duncan Vella ended second with 5.5 points.
12-year old Matthew Portelli confirmed his outstanding chess year by taking 3rd place with 5 points. Matthew who recently won the Chess Middle-School Rapid Arena, achieved a performance rating of 1809. He played with determination against experienced players and his chess future is surely going to be successful.
Dawid Witko who hails from Poland leads a group of 5 players on 4.5points to take 4th place. In 5th place, 13-year old Andre Gauci produced his best ever result and achieved it in style by winning his final 4 games.
Patrick Zerafa took 6th place while Seniors Champion Mario Psaila took 7th place.
Another impressive result was achieved by Keshav Reyansh who is 8 years old Keshav achieved wins against higher rated players and drew experienced players Ian Refalo and Mario Psaila. Keshav performed at a rating of 1765 and gained 90 points from this tournament.
