The Malta Chess Federation shall be organizing the 2023 Blitz Championship open to all players as follows:
Blitz:
Date: 17th September 2023
Time: 10:00am until approximately 1:30pm.
Format: Swiss system, 7 rounds if up to 30 players; 9 rounds up to 40; 11 rounds otherwise.
Time control: 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment per move for the whole game.
Registration: 9:30 am registration.
Tournament is FIDE rated (for the blitz rating list).
Everyone is eligible to play, provided that they are members of the Malta Chess Federation. Players can become members just before each respective tournament starts. Only players eligible to play in the Maltese championship cycle can win the title of Malta Blitz Champion.
Entry fee for adults: 10 euro per tournament.
Entry fee for Under 16 players: 5 euro per tournament.
Prize fund: €200
